St Mary’s School Entrance

31/01/2014

St Mary’s School in Dublin 1 overlooks a dilapidated road that fronts the primary entrance to the school. Undeveloped lands that have become dumping grounds, unsightly galvanised fencing, overgrown shrubs and poorly lit at the night have all contributed to a dark and grimy welcome for students every morning.

The school are currently applying to the local council for funding to upgrade the street and as part of this application I completed a number of photoshop renders to give an idea of what the street and school entrance could become. With an emphasis on temporary fittings, colour and pop-up gardening, the proposed ideas aim to create a more welcoming and engaging school front for everyone.
