Over a number of weeks from September to November 2013, I ran a series of workshops with the 5th & 6th class students at Williamstown National School. Classes were run on the Microsoft Office suite as required by the standard educational curriculum. However, I also introduced the classes to the basics of SketchUp, and it was this product that caught the imaginations of all students alike.
I ran a number of workshops on producing SketchUp models that tied in with the Chinese studies the students were undertaking in the classroom. All students designed pagoda gate, temple or a partial section of the Great Wall of China. When the workshops were complete, the final modelwork was displayed in the hallways for all to see.
